A Journey from Aerobics to Yoga Pioneer in Western Howard County

Kathy Huver fell in love with group fitness classes the moment she started taking them in the late 80's and early 90's. At that time, the popular trend was "high-low aerobics," followed by "step aerobics." It wasn't long before Kathy began choreographing fitness routines to songs in her head and envisioned herself leading classes.
In 1991, her dream became a reality when she started working full-time at Spa Lady on Water Street in downtown Baltimore. Throughout the '90s, Kathy continued to teach in various studios across Howard County and Baltimore City, finally finding her happy place at the Columbia Association in 1999.
Fast forward to 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic shut down fitness studios everywhere. Kathy was introduced to Yoga Sculpt by a friend. She loved it so much that she remotely certified to teach the format and even added a 200-hour Yoga Certification to her teaching repertoire.
After relocating from Columbia to Ellicott City in 2021, Kathy realized there were few local yoga studios near her new home. This sparked the idea to bring Yoga to Western Howard County, filling a much-needed gap in the community.
